Comic-Con 2007 Exclusive Kotobukiya Utapau Clone Trooper

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the greatest space fantasy film of all time, the Utapau Trooper is the newest edition to Kotobukiya's ARTFX Statue series. While most of the edition size was sold out at Comic-Con this summer, StarWarsShop has managed to get a small quantity for its shoppers!

The infamous receivers of Order 66, each Utapau Clone Troopers stands 12 inches tall, and includes a display base and trademark Clone Trooper blaster and DC-15 rifle. The level of detail that the Koto ARTFX series is known for is on display in this piece, with over 200 individual scratches and markings on the Trooper's armor. Limited to only 2007 pieces (for Summer 2007), this is one of the smallest edition sizes of any ARTFX Statues released.

Modeled after artist Ralph McQuarrie's original concept illustrations for beloved droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, the figures celebrate the 30-year legacy of the Star Wars saga as well as the creative, guiding vision of McQuarrie, whose drawings helped George Lucas convince studio directors to back the very first Star Wars movie.

McQuarrie's early production illustrations of C-3PO drew inspiration from the golden android in Fritz Lang's Metropolis. In initial drawings for R2-D2, the plucky droid displayed flexible, exterior claws that would later become a number of handy attachments hidden inside Artoo's more streamlined exterior. Very early story treatments featured the bickering droids on the Imperial side of the conflict, but they evolved to become tenacious, if unlikely, Rebel heroes. McQuarrie's first painting of the droids was one of five pieces of art shown to the Twentieth Century Fox board of directors prior to their approving the initial budget for what was then called "The Star Wars."

The official reproduction of the Special Operations Troop Helmet from Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith is constructed of gloss-painted fiberglass with the aerators and chin module added on as separate, painted, injection-molded parts. Specially decorated with blue accents representing the Special Ops, the helmet is padded and wearable with lenses formed from a see-through, tinted, plastic sheet. Prop Story



As the Clone Wars race inexorably toward their tumultuous conclusion, Jedi Knights fighting alongside battalions of Clone troopers are spread throughout the galaxy engaging the droid armies of General Grievous and the Separatists.



Yoda, on the Wookiee world of Kashyyyk, leads a special Elite Corp in defense of this woodland world. His Clonetroopers sport a unique camouflage paint scheme designed to allow them to invisibly blend into the densely forested world. Elsewhere, Anakin Skywalker's Special Ops Troops, identified by a unique bright blue stripe emblazoned on their helmets and chest plates, follow their dashing commander in his many heroic feats. Even Supreme Chancellor Palpatine has his own regiment -- the fearsome Shock Troops. Bold red stripes across their helmets clearly identify them as the ultimate strata in the Republic's cloned forces.



However, this army of the Republic was created under mysterious circumstances - called into existence by a shadowy puppet master. To create the Clone trooper helmet replica, Master Replicas was provided with the original ILM digital character files. From these, a 3D model was generated to use as a master pattern to create accurate molds from which the helmets were produced in high quality fiberglass. History:
Master Replicas surprised the collecting world with their announcement last year that they would be producing high-end replicas of various helmets and costumes from the Star Wars universe.

Their premiere pieces in this line are a trio of Clonetrooper helmets as seen in Episode III. First up is the "standard" white trooper helmet. Next, the helmets of the red-decorated "Shocktroopers", who serve as the Emperor's personal guard have been recreated in exact detail as a direct-only item through their website.

The third are the blue-striped helmets of the "Special Ops" troopers, who specifically accompany Anakin on his mission to the Jedi temple, have also been recreated by MR as a retailer exclusive. And finally, the newest helmet is the yellow-striped helmet of the Star Corps troops led by

Commander Bly on Felucia, produced exclusively for customers of StarWarsShop.com. Each helmet is constructed in durable fiberglas, and is fully padded and lined and features tinted, clear plastic lenses.
